After clearing customs at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our friendly guide, who will transfer you to your hotel in Moshi. Take this time to relax and acclimatize while soaking in the stunning views of Kilimanjaro from a distance. In the evening, we will host a pre-trek briefing where our experienced guides will provide you with essential information about the trek, equipment checklists, and safety protocols. This is also an excellent opportunity to ask questions and get to know your fellow climbers. As you settle in for the night, let the anticipation of the journey ahead fill your spirit with excitement! Day 2: Moshi to Rongai Gate – Simba Camp After an early breakfast, we will drive you to the Rongai Gate, where your climbing adventure officially begins! The drive takes you through the lush countryside, offering a glimpse of local life and stunning landscapes. Upon arrival at the gate, our team will assist with the necessary permits, and you will be introduced to your dedicated guides and porters. The trek starts by weaving through pine forests, where the fresh smell of the wilderness invigorates your senses. Wildlife is abundant in this lush environment, and you might spot various birds and even monkeys. The trail is relatively gentle, allowing for a comfortable acclimatization as you gain your first elevation. After approximately 6-7 hours of hiking, you will reach Simba Camp, where a delicious dinner awaits you. As you sit around the campfire, take a moment to appreciate the incredible journey that lies ahead. Day 3: Simba Camp to Second Cave Camp You’ll wake up to the melodious sounds of nature and a hearty breakfast prepared by our fantastic culinary team. Today’s trek will lead you to Second Cave Camp, at an elevation of approximately 3,450 meters (11,319 feet). The trail offers stunning views of Kibo Peak and leads you through open moorlands dotted with fascinating flora. This segment of the trek typically takes around 3-4 hours. The higher you ascend, the more breathtaking the views become. Nature’s vibrant colors seem to come alive, painting a perfect picture of serene beauty. Upon arrival at Second Cave Camp, you’ll have some time to relax and acclimatize. Take a short hike in the afternoon to further aid in your acclimatization process. Enjoy another delightful dinner under the vast African sky, as the stars shine brightly above, promising a magical experience. Day 4: Second Cave Camp to Kikelewa Camp After breakfast, you’ll embark on another day of exploration, trekking from Second Cave Camp to Kikelewa Camp. This segment of the hike will take you through a variety of landscapes, including unique plants and breathtaking views of Mawenzi Peak, the second-highest peak of Kilimanjaro. The trek will take around 5-6 hours, and you’ll experience a gradual ascent that helps your body acclimatize to the increasing altitude. Upon reaching Kikelewa Camp, you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome. Here, you can take in the stunning vistas and enjoy lunch prepared by our talented kitchen team. As the evening approaches, allow yourself to reflect on the journey so far. The exhilaration of climbing Kilimanjaro is heightened as you see the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink. Day 5: Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Turn Camp On this day, you will embark on a shorter trek, but the stunning scenery makes it incredibly rewarding. After breakfast, you will make your way towards Mawenzi Turn Camp, which sits at an elevation of about 4,300 meters (14,107 feet). The trek to Mawenzi Turn Camp takes approximately 4-5 hours and is characterized by the striking landscape surrounding you. You’ll have ample opportunities to photograph the dramatic peaks, glacial formations, and the unique vegetation that thrives at high altitudes. Once you arrive at Mawenzi Turn Camp, take the rest of the day to relax, hydrate, and acclimatize. In the afternoon, you can take a short hike to further help your body adjust to the altitude. As you gather for dinner, the excitement builds for the final push to the summit. It’s time to reflect on all your accomplishments on this journey, and the bonds you’ve formed with fellow climbers are sure to become lifelong memories. Day 6: Mawenzi Turn Camp to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Camp This is it—the day you’ve been waiting for! You will rise early, around midnight, for a warm breakfast before starting your ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. The climb will take approximately 6-8 hours, and the trail is steep and challenging. But don’t worry; our experienced guides will be there to encourage and support you every step of the way. As you ascend, the air becomes thinner and the temperatures drop significantly. Dress warmly and pace yourself as you make your way towards the peak. When you finally reach Uhuru Peak, the sense of accomplishment and euphoria is overwhelming. Standing at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet), with the vast African landscape stretching out before you, you will understand why this journey is considered one of the greatest adventures on the planet. After taking in the breathtaking views and snapping photos to commemorate your achievement, you will begin your descent back to Horombo Camp. This trek down takes around 5-7 hours, and you’ll be greeted with a warm meal…
